ANÁLISIS HIDROLÓGICO Y PLUVIOMÉTRICO DE LA CUENCA DEL RÍO ZAMORA MEDIANTE SIG Y THIESSEN

Resumen

El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo realizar un análisis hidrológico y pluviométrico de la cuenca del río Zamora, ubicada en el sur del Ecuador, mediante el uso de Sistemas de Información Geográfica GIS y el método de polígonos de Thiessen, la investigación se desarrolló bajo un enfoque cuantitativo, aplicado, integrando información cartográfica, un Modelo Digital de Elevación, cartografía hidrográfica oficial, estaciones meteorológicas y registros de precipitación del INAMHI. Se delimitó la cuenca a partir de un punto de cierre ubicado en la Central Hidroeléctrica DelsiTanisagua, aplicando herramientas de análisis hidrológico en ArcGIS Pro, tales como Fill, Flow Direction, Flow Accumulation y Watershed. Posteriormente, se extrajo y jerarquizó la red hídrica mediante el método de Strahler, identificando cauces de orden 1 a 6. Para el análisis pluviométrico, se generaron polígonos de Thiessen a partir de las estaciones seleccionadas, calculando una precipitación media ponderada de 116,27 mm para una cuenca de aproximadamente 6.180,11 km². Además, se aplicó interpolación IDW para representar la variabilidad espacial de la precipitación y se derivaron isoyetas como líneas de igual precipitación, los resultados evidencian una cuenca de amplia extensión, con una red de drenaje bien definida y variaciones pluviométricas relevantes asociadas a su configuración territorial andino amazónica. Se puede concluir que la integración de herramientas SIG, datos meteorológicos oficiales y métodos de estimación espacial constituye una alternativa metodológica útil para estudios de disponibilidad hídrica, planificación de infraestructura hidráulica y gestión de riesgos hidro climáticos en cuencas estratégicas del Ecuador.
