ABSTRACT

The objective of this study was to analyze the use of Artificial Intelligence for teaching Biology at the Luis Fernando Ruiz Educational Unit. To this end, a theoretical foundation for the research variables was established, and a quasi-experimental, quantitative, bibliographic, cross-sectional, and non-experimental method was used to observe, describe, and argue the results obtained from the application of the survey technique and a structured questionnaire with a Likert scale, which was administered to 11 teachers with expertise in teaching biology. The data obtained were filtered, tabulated, graphically represented, analyzed, and interpreted using the thematic content analysis method. The information analyzed was compared with other studies similar to the research context, from which it was concluded that biology teachers have a positive attitude and a high degree of awareness of the potential of artificial intelligence to transform the teaching of biology. However, there is only a basic familiarity with and exploratory use of AI tools, so their implementation is neither systematic nor frequent, which is partly due to the lack of infrastructure in the institution.
