ABSTRACT: The digitization of higher education has spurred the adoption of hybrid teaching
models, which incorporate digital tools designed to improve teaching and learning processes.
In this regard, in recent years, universities have increased their use of learning management
platforms, collaboration tools, gamification applications, and synchronous communication
systems to improve academic performance, student engagement, and the development of
digital competencies. However, disparities still exist in the results obtained, depending on
pedagogical, technological, and institutional factors, which make it difficult to draw
comprehensive conclusions about their effectiveness. The objective of this study was to analyze
the impact of interactive digital tools on academic performance in higher education under
hybrid teaching models, identifying the most widely used technologies, their benefits, and the
factors associated with their effectiveness. This study was a qualitative systematic literature
review conducted in accordance with the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. The search for scientific
evidence was conducted from January to May 2026 in international databases such as Scopus,
Web of Science, PubMed, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, IEEE Xplore, Wiley, Taylor & Francis, and
ERIC, applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria established a priori. The results showed that
Moodle, Microsoft Teams, Google Classroom, Kahoot!, Quizizz, and Padlet were the most
commonly used tools, with positive effects observed on academic performance, motivation,
participation, collaborative learning, autonomy, and the development of digital competencies.
It was concluded that interactive digital tools contribute significantly to improving academic
performance at the university level, provided they are used in accordance with pedagogical
strategies, teacher training, technological infrastructure, institutional policies on educational
innovation, and a sustainable digital transformation.
